I Took a Class on Trauma Informed+Mindfulness

Trauma Informed.

I learned so much this weekend in the Trauma Informed Yoga Training I attended. Some stuff that brought me to tears.

Trauma is having things occur in your life that is out of your control. These things impact you mentally, physically, and emotionally. Neurologically too. Literally changing who you are and how you respond to situations.

We think people get over things because they go on like everything is ok. But internally there are things going on that no one can see. Things that even that person impacted has no idea is going on because it’s too painful to deal with, relive it, or confront.

We gotta be kind humans so we aren’t out here inflicting trauma on other peoples lives. We gotta be mindful of the things we spew out of our mouths. We gotta care about the consequences of our actions. We gotta be aware that there is a system built to inflict trauma on certain people, intentionally.

When you know better, you do better. And I can’t pretend I’m unaware anymore. Project Yoga Cincinnati thank you so much for this enriching training and information. They brought in experts in the field of psychology, occupational therapy, and yoga both days to guide and equip us with the knowledge to help those impacted by trauma. (Spoiler alert…. Most of us)

The more I know, the better equipped I can be to help those in my community.

Now I can add that I am a “Trauma Informed” Yoga Instructctor 😘
